On April 8, 2024, Upstate NY will Experience a Total Solar Eclipse !
 

  
 

How Exciting! The Total Eclipse will traverse a line across Mexico and the Southern U.S. then pass over portions of Western NY, the Northern Finger Lakes, Thousand Islands, and Adirondacks on its way into New England and Canada. 
 

 

Seeing a total solar eclipse may be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many and occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking out the Sun's rays for several minutes.


During totality the sky will become noticeably darker, like early dawn or late dusk. Individuals in other parts of NY State will see at least a partial eclipse.
