 Who Knew? The Erie Canal  is the Perfect  Destination for both Sightseeing AND Recreation!  The historical ambiance, fascinating locks, picturesque terrains, and proximity to exciting towns, campsites, restaurants and wildlife areas create a unique recreational landscape found nowhere else. Many Local trails  are groomed for hiking and biking, and the gently flowing currents are ideal for kayaking and small boating.

Biking & Kayak Rentals  are available at select locations. Summer festivals, bike races, and other happenings are going on, friendly campsites dot the Canalway Trail, and Scenic Cruises highlight the area's rich history as you glide by nesting Eagles and other wildlife in their natural habitat. 

The Erie Canal Boat Company  offers equipment for seasoned boaters as well as guided tours for beginners. No previous paddling experience is necessary for beginners to navigate the waterway. Their specially trained staff provide all the necessary safety equipment, and Senior/Group/Team-building discounts are available.
