The Lake Placid Sinfonietta is a professional chamber orchestra of twenty musicians from across the country. Since inception in 1917 and continuing to the present day, the ensemble has provided excellent live classical music performance to communities in the heart of the Adirondacks. Lake Placid Sinfonietta musicians serve on university faculties and perform with other highly regarded orchestras, such as the Alabama Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Vermont Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Quad City Symphony, and the Tucson Symphony.
