What's it all about?
Most people when asked if they like the accordion would tell you –‘not so much.’ Then there are a few people who would tell you –‘sorta kinda.’ At last, there are the very few who may say they ‘love’ the accordion and oddly enough accordionist Maury Rosenberg is not one of them. He says, "I don't particular like the sound of the accordion by itself. I'd rather listen to a clarinet and that's why we have one in the band. With that said, I've been trying to destroy my accordion since I have started Hypnotic Clambake back in 1990. By destroy I don't mean throw a brick at it, but instead, I have tried to blend it, mask it, and color it into music where the accordion may not be heard as much. Along with an electric guitar, electric bass, trombone, a cool drum beat and hopefully some decent song-writing, we have tried to destroy the accordion and bring it back to life (kinda like Frankenstein) for audiences around the country to experience but maybe not enjoy, that's up to them!!"
