Boat Building Workshop

Boat Building Workshop
Location: 1 West First St, Oswego, NY, 13126
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is partnering with the Department of Technology at SUNY Oswego and Raby’s ACE Home Center to offer a Boat Building Weekend here in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District”.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 12, 13 & 14, you and your family can join in an instructional, hands-on program that culminates in a completed boat for your family’s use.

This is our eleventh year offering this unique opportunity and there are four styles of boats to choose from. All materials are provided, but a limited number of kits are available. Compared to other boat building programs in the Northeast, this workshop is made more affordable thanks to the generous support of Raby’s ACE Home Center.

At least one responsible adult, parent or guardian over the age of 18 years, must be included in each family or group and there is an age minimum of 9 years old for the children due to the skills needed to complete the project. All participants must be prepared to work the entire workshop. Groups of at least two members are requested.

You must register as soon as possible and pre-payment is required. Space is limited, so participation will be on a first registered and paid basis.

Contact the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at 342-0480 for more information, or visit www.hlwmm.org.
