September through mid-October at the Wild Center - check website for dates, times and other events offered.

This autumn, join a NYS Licensed Guide and Wild Center Naturalist on an interpretive canoe paddle along the Raquette River’s oxbow. Enjoy the color of the season while learning how Adirondack animals are preparing for the long winter ahead.

You can catch glimpses of the local wildlife, explore different marsh habitats, and watch the landscape transform as you wind around the many curves and turns of the oxbow, a unique, natural formation found in rivers around the world.

The trip is geared to all paddling abilities, ages 4 and up and paddling instruction is provided. Children ages 5 through 15 must have at least 1 parent or guardian present for every 2 children.

Register early as space is limited.
