Satsang w/ special guest Tim Snider & Wolfgang Timber presented by ElmThree. Written and recorded during an extended hiatus from the road, Satsang’s extraordinary new album, ‘All. Right. Now.,’ finds frontman Drew McManus reconnecting with his Montana roots and exploring a whole new palette of sounds and textures, drawing on classic country and modern Americana to forge a joyful, rustic collection all about letting go and living in the moment. McManus produced the album himself, and while the songs here are certainly honest and deeply personal, they’re written in a spiritual language that taps into something far more universal, something inherent in the human condition that binds us as brothers and sisters on a shared journey to find ourselves and our place in this world. The performances and arrangements are broad and spacious to match, reflecting the wide-open fields and soaring mountains that surrounded the band during the whirlwind recording process, and the result is a lush, organic collection fueled by acoustic guitars, fiddle, and pedal steel, a warm, inviting record that hints at everything from Uncle Tupelo and The Jayhawks to Gregory Alan Isakov and The Head and the Heart as it meditates on the power—and the pull—of home.

Back from a ten-year lunch break, Mad Agnes has reunited to bring you the intricate harmonies and compelling songwriting that have always been their signature. Margo Hennebach, Adrienne Jones and Mark Saunders have been singing and performing across the U.S. and overseas. While dodging labels and mixing styles (Folk, classical or Celtic) soaring vocals, incisive lyrics or giggly repartee, the genre-bending trio has won hearts on two continents, and individually and collectively amassed a body of work which comprises thirteen CDs and a concert DVD. About the Music Hall: In existence for more than 30 years, the Oswego Music Hall offers mostly acoustical musicians every other Saturday night from September to June. On concert evenings, a large empty hall is transformed into an intimate venue replete with candlelit tables, professional staging and sound; as well as an array of freshly baked desserts, hot cider and freshly brewed coffee. Family friendly. Wheelchair accessible.

'Lake Ontario Weather' - The National Marine Sanctuary Spring lecture Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Location: Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego, NY, 13126

The second installment of the 2022 Lake Ontario Lecture Series is planned for Saturday, March 26 at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in the city of Oswego. The second lecture, titled “Weather and Lake Ontario,” will be headlined by Judy Levan, meteorologist-in-charge at the National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo office. It will focus on the unique weather and climate conditions in the eastern Lake Ontario region, in addition to weather forecasting and the current and historical impact of weather on human activity.

The lecture will start at noon and run about two hours. Anyone interested can attend in-person at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego, or join virtually. The event is free to the public and light refreshments will be available.

Visit tinyurl.com/LakeOntarioWeather to register for in-person or virtual attendance.

Levan is a native of western New York and graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology. In addition to more than 40 years with the NWS, she is a member of the American Meteorological Society, National Weather Association and Federally Employed Women.

Organized by the local sanctuary advisory council, the March 26 event is the second installment in a three-part lecture series that included a Feb. 19 presentation by WPBS President Mark Prasuhn in Fair Haven titled “New York’s Seaway Lighthouses” and will conclude on April 30 with “Lake Ontario and the War of 1812” in Sackets Harbor.

The local Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council is a 15-member panel established to assist the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) in guiding the proposed national marine sanctuary (NMS) through the designation process. NOAA oversees the nation’s NMS system. For more information on the advisory council, visit https://sanctuaries.noaa.gov/lake-ontario/advisory/.

The proposed Lake Ontario NMS would encompass more than 1,700 square miles in eastern Lake Ontario to protect and showcase dozens of shipwrecks and other historically significant underwater assets. NOAA announced its intent to designate the marine sanctuary in April 2019, and in mid-2021 released draft documents related to the proposed sanctuary. For more information on the proposed Lake Ontario NMS, visit https://www.sanctuaries.noaa.gov/lake-ontario/.
