Located at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, Peebles Island State Park offers spectacular river and rapids views from the year-round walking and jogging trails.
 

The park's 190 acres has miles of paths through gently rolling and wooded landscape along with a small waterfall, Buttermilk Falls. Peebles Island is also the headquarters of the Bureau of Historic Sites and Bureau of Historic Preservation Field Services.
 

In addition to hiking, summer activities encompass fishing and picnicking while winter provides cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Hunting is not permitted.
