Just 17 miles from Clayton, Tibbetts Point Lighthouse marks the point where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River in Upstate New York and today features the only original working Fresnel lens in Lake Ontario.
Placed in operation in 1827, the original Tibbetts Point Lighthouse exhibited the light of nine lamps set in fourteen-inch reflectors from its octagonal lantern room.
Today, visitors can enjoy using the provided telescope for views of Lake Ontario and the river. Uniquely, the lighthouse also features a hostel.
