In existence for more than 30 years, the Oswego Music Hall offers mostly acoustical musicians every other Saturday night from September to June. On concert evenings, a large empty hall is transformed into an intimate venue replete with candlelit tables, professional staging and sound; as well as an array of freshly baked desserts, hot cider and freshly brewed coffee.

This week, "Joan and Joni" singer-songwriters, Allison Shapira and Kipyn Martin, bring you the resonant sounds of Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell.

The set list features a plethora of covers; Shapira handles Baez' songs, and Martin sings material written by Mitchell. In addition, each woman contributes harmony vocals for the other's songs. (There is a visual connection, as well. Shapira, like Baez, has dark hair, while Martin has blonde tresses similar to Mitchell.) But the performances are not impersonations, said Shapira. "We're not imitating them," she said. "We're singing their songs, but in our style."
