The Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified crown-jewel event on Sunday, October 7, will feature more than 40 competitors, all trying to etch their name in the history books as NAPA Super DIRT Week champions and take home the $50,000 winner’s check.

Long Acre Farms’ Amazing Maize Maze, which opened in 1998, was New York State’s first corn maze and is one of the longest running mazes in the world. This maze is one of the more challenging ones with the average completion time of 90 minutes. The moonlight maze opens at 6 p.m. and sells tickets for entry until 9 p.m. with the maze closing at 11 p.m.

Take a combined chairlift and elevator ride up the 120-meter ski jump. At the top of the 26-story tower, experience magnificent views of peak Adirondack Fall foliage as surrounding hills and mountains are highlighted by brilliant reds, oranges and yellows.

In existence for more than 30 years, the Oswego Music Hall offers mostly acoustical musicians every other Saturday night from September to June. On concert evenings, a large empty hall is transformed into an intimate venue replete with candlelit tables, professional staging and sound; as well as an array of freshly baked desserts, hot cider and freshly brewed coffee.

This week, Cliff Eberhardt take the Music Hall Stage with special guest, Louise Mosrie. Eberhardt has been a fixture on the national singer-songwriter stage for 30 years - first playing guitar for folk legend Richie Havens, Melanie and The Band, then securing his own status as a formidable songwriter with his epic debut "The Long Road" on Windham Hill Records. Nine albums of critical acclaim and millions of miles later, he continues to wow audiences with his humorous stories, sophisticated song style and dynamic guitar performances. His songs have been cut by Richie Havens, Shawn Colvin, Buffy St. Marie, David Broza, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell (Cry, Cry, Cry), Erasure, Russ Taff and many more.

Mosrie is a young Southern soul folk-oriented artist who has been compared to Patty Griffin and Susan Tedeschi.

Discovering Lake Ontario’s Historic Shipwrecks

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego hosts the final installment of its 2018 History Lecture Series featuring underwater explorer and author Jim Kennard. The presentation is free and will dive into four significant historic shipwrecks in Lake Ontario discovered by Kennard and his shipwreck exploration team.

Jim Kennard has been diving and exploring the lakes in the northeast since 1970 and has found more than 200 shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, Lake Champlain, NY Finger Lakes and in the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. Using his background as an electrical engineer, he built the side scan sonar system that located many of the shipwrecks, garnering worldwide attention in the news media.

Jim and his shipwreck teams’ discoveries have appeared in a number of publications including National Geographic and he has appeared on national TV including Discovery Channel, CBC, BBC, FOX News, and other major network affiliates. Kennard’s new book Shipwrecks of Lake Ontario – A Journey of Discovery will be available in November 2018.

In existence for more than 30 years, the Oswego Music Hall offers mostly acoustical musicians every other Saturday night from September to June. On concert evenings, a large empty hall is transformed into an intimate venue replete with candlelit tables, professional staging and sound; as well as an array of freshly baked desserts, hot cider and freshly brewed coffee.

This week, Chris Proctor takes the Oswego Music Hall stage. Playing fingerstyle guitar, Proctor’s style includes an aspect of Americana in the echoes of Appalachian and old-timey style – but there are also elements of jazz, Celtic folk, and a dash of blues throughout his music. Experience The Farmers' Museum during the most haunting time of the year. Join museum guides as they lead you about the shadowy grounds and recount the many mysteries and ghostly happenings that have occurred in the Museum's historic village.

Walk through the darkened 19th-century village by lantern, stopping at the Blacksmith's Shop, Bump Tavern, and other buildings. Guides tell ghostly tales adapted from the Louis C. Jones classic, Things That Go Bump in the Night, a timeless record of haunted history and restless spirits in New York State. You will hear stories associated with the museum's buildings, such as the tale of a young ghost sighted by staff and guests in Bump Tavern and the mysterious early morning strikes on the blacksmith's anvil.

See a theatrical performance of Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting “The Tell-Tale Heart” that will leave you aghast.

Hosted by Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards, enjoy fun family activities that the kids will remember. There is free live music from 1- 4pm. Along with wine, beer, hard cider and dessert wine tastings, food is available all over the farm for purchase and into the Becker Bazaar.

There are two fun-filled parks, a corn maze, rides through the forest, pedal karts and tricycle race track, pony rides, petting zoo and more.


If it is raining outdoor activities may be canceled, so please call ahead if there is inclement weather. Pre-purchased tickets can be used on different days in case of cancellations.

For six decades, the USAF Heritage of America Concert Band has educated, inspired and entertained over 1.5 million people annually, by providing music for events that support Airmen and their families, honor our Nation’s veterans and build relationships of trust between the American people and their Air Force. The Concert Band is comprised of more than 40 professional Airman-musicians who captivate audiences on regular tours throughout the East Coast with a variety of renditions of great orchestral classics, marches, Broadway hits, jazz standards, movie music, and patriotic favorites.
