Not only does this Herkimer Diamond KOA Resort have RV and tent sites, it also offers themed cottages and lodges (solar-powered, astronomy, robotics and more!) as well as the opportunity to mine for your own famous Herkimer Diamond! Actually quartz crystals, the stones were faceted by nature half a billion years ago.

Accommodations feature WiFi, 30/50 Amp service, grassy sites for tents and pull-through sites with water and electric or full hook-ups for RVs. Other amenities include seasonal pool, fishing, dog park, snack bar, bike rentals and campers can dine at KOA's on-site cafe, pavilion or restaurant. Alongside KOA's campsites, West Canada Creek offers trout and water fun for canoeists, tubers and kayakers.

Here, you can also experience Upstate New York's largest jewelry store, a museum, a fossil-and-gemstone sluicing area, "Randy" the authentic dinosaur skull and a new activity center.
