Iconic and flamboyant singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer Elton John brings his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour” to Syracuse’s Carrier Dome Sept. 10, 2022, at 8 p.m. After more than half a century on the road and an unparalleled career, 74-year-old John’s world-famous farewell tour travels through North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, concluding in 2023. The tour’s name is a nod to Elton John’s 1973 double album which has sold more than 30 million copies, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Audiences can look forward to enjoying more than two dozen of John’s biggest hits, including “Bennie and the Jets,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Rocket Man,” “Levon,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Candle in the Wind,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Your Song” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked him 49th on its list of 100 influential musicians of the rock and roll era. In 2013, Billboard ranked him the most successful male solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists, and third overall, behind the Beatles and Madonna. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, and is a fellow of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for "services to music and charitable services" in 1998. (Wikipedia)

“I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career,” said Elton John in a public statement. “Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in your town.”
