Boasting more than 44,000 acres, Harriman State Park is the second-largest park in the New York state parks system. The park features 31 lakes and reservoirs, 200 miles of hiking trails, two swimming beaches, two public camping areas (Beaver Pond Campground & Sebago Cabin Camp), and miles of streams and scenic roads.
 

Along with hiking and swimming, activities include biking, fishing, picnicking, playing fields and ice fishing, skating, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter. Park amenities include boat launches, a gift shop, grills, restrooms and showers, visitor center and group camps.
 

PET POLICY: Pets are allowed but must be leashed. They are not allowed on the beaches or in any of the lakes. Between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend only, dogs are not allowed at Welch Beach.
