Home to the 32nd and longest-serving president of the United States, the Springwood estate was established as a National Historic Site in 1945.
 

The site is the birthplace, lifelong home, and burial place of the longest serving U.S. President and Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933-1945) returned to Hyde Park often during his terms.
