When dreaming of a visit to the iconic and majestic Niagara Falls, most consider journeying to admire this natural wonder during the warmer seasons, however, a visit to the falls in winter can offer an even more magical and spectacular adventure.

The combination of the powerful water and freezing cold temperatures create spectacular ice sculptures in the river around the falls and the mist actually freezes to create a shimmering coating of ice on nearby trees, buildings and lampposts. Add to that the colorful illumination of the falls every evening beginning at dusk, the vision is one you won’t see anywhere else and never forget.

Along with all of the exciting attractions, food and shopping Niagara Falls offers, the city embraces winter and also features a myriad of events throughout the winter. Click here for a full itinerary of events.

The piece de resistance happens every Friday night from November through January where you can enjoy fireworks over the falls every Friday night at 9 p.m. During the holidays, there will be bonus fireworks shows every night from December 21-30, 2019, and Jan. 1-5, 2020. All performances are free and subject to change.
