Located in the scenic Schoharie Valley, the 500-acre state park is named for Mine Kill Creek, which runs through a narrow gorge in the park and features the 80-foot Mine Kill Falls.

Mine Kill State Park offers a great diversity of birds in the park, in particular the bald eagle, blue bird and wild turkey, more easily visible in the winter. Visitors also can enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.
