Tifft Nature Preserve
The nature features more than five miles of walking trails and guided walks, three boardwalks with viewing platforms for wildlife and bird watching and fishing at Lake Kirsty
Just a short walk from the Outer Harbor and a bike ride away from Canalside, Tifft is a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city while being just minutes from downtown Buffalo. This 264-acre nature reserve was established for the preservation and conservation of the local environment as well as for the public to enjoy a range of outdoor activities.
The nature features more than five miles of walking trails and guided walks, as well as three well-maintained boardwalks with viewing platforms for wildlife and bird watching and fishing at Lake Kirsty. You can also rent show shoes and hit the trails for a snowshoeing adventure.
Tifft also holds the designation of being an Important Bird Area by the National Audobon Society, so this is a great place for birdwatching. Other amenities include a picnic area (no cooking) and restrooms. The park also hosts fun educational programs throughout the year.
