The trail features a granite marker for the alleged burial location of the local Indian maiden, Utsayantha, and stunning views at the summit
A great hike for any skill level, Mount Utsayantha offers a 2-mile hike or mountain bike ride to the summit and back. The trail features a granite marker for the alleged burial location of the local Indian maiden, Utsayantha.
At the top there are several vantage points featuring breathtaking vistas, including a fire tower offering a panoramic view of the stunning landscape. The top also holds a wooden building which was once an observatory and souvenir shop for tourists who visited the mountain as well as a cluster of several communication towers.
There are two take-off spots for hang gliders as well – one just below the summit and the other in front of the summit building. Dogs are allowed on the trail, which is best used from May until November.
