Cooperstown Candlelight Ghost Tours
This tour company offers one-hour walking ghost tours that detail the numerous ghost stories – old and recent – as well as the history of the village of Cooperstown.
Tours are offered nightly at 8 p.m. from April to August, and at 7 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in the fall.
This tour company offers one-hour walking ghost tours that detail the numerous ghost stories – old and recent – as well as the history of the village of Cooperstown.
The tour includes stops at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Christ Church Graveyard, which is said to be haunted each midnight by the ghosts of the slaves and servants of the village’s founding family, the Coopers. Then visit River Street, the most ghostly street in the village, which features a trio of haunted houses: Byberry Cottage, Greencrest, and Pomeroy Place. Each of these distinctive houses was once owned by the Cooper family, and each is said to remain haunted to this day.
The tour culminates with a stop at the northern edge of what was once known as “The Haunted Lake, Lake Otsego, and the home of Hyde Hall, a 200-year-old building that is haunted by ghosts of the British Clarke family.
