This 2,322-acre park is located partly on the mainland and partly on Barnhart Island and visitors can reach the park through a tunnel under the Eisenhower Lock. Home to a large variety of flora and fauna, the park's nature, hiking and skiing trails wind through fields, forests and wetlands, with overlooks showcasing spectacular views.
 

The park also offers wooded campsites for both RVs and tents – some sites with electric – and cabins along with a marina and boat launch. Some amenities the park includes a playground, picnic area, beach, restrooms, showers, tennis court and a year-round nature center.
 

The park is host to a large variety of recreational activities like fishing, swimming, hiking, tennis and, in the winter, cross-country skiing and even snowmobiling.
 

PET POLICY: Household pets are welcome but must be leashed. Campsites are limited to two household pets.
