Enjoy Camping at Allegany State Park
Amenities include Old Quaker Store and Museum, the Park Restaurant with an outdoor dining patio overlooking Red House Lake and a store
With more than 65,000 acres, Allegany State Park is the largest state park in New York State. The park is divided into two sections: The Red House Area and the Quaker Run Area. The Red House Area is the northeastern half of Allegany State Park while the Quaker area is the southwestern section of the park.
The park provides campsites for tents, trailers and RVs and also has cabins, yurts and cottages for rent. It features 18 hiking trails, three of which have been developed as self-guided nature trails. There are also paved biking trails – bring your own or rent one from the park. There are also rowboats, paddleboats, paddleboards, canoes and kayaks available for rent and two sandy beaches for relaxing and swimming.
In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The groomed snowmobile trails also double as horseback riding trails in the summer. Bird watchers can be on the lookout for more than 200 species of birds in Alleghany State Park, including bald eagles and osprey.
Amenities include Old Quaker Store and Museum, the Park Restaurant with an outdoor dining patio overlooking Red House Lake and a store to purchase fishing supplies and bait as well as ice, ice cream and cold beverages.
FPET POLICY: Family pets are allowed on leashes and with proof of rabies vaccination.
