Located at the end of the western breakwater forming the harbor in Oswego, the Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse is the fourth lighthouse since 1822 to stand watch over the mouth of the Oswego River and is still active today.

When the lighthouse was solarized in 1995, the Fresnel lens was removed from the lantern room and is currently on display in the H. Lee White Maritime Museum. In 2000, the Lighthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and restoration began in 2013.

In 2014, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum acquired a lease of the lighthouse from the City of Oswego to expedite the restoration process. Tours of the historic lighthouse began in 2017.
