Sponsored by the Pitts Friends of Frederick Douglass. The annual event, celebrating the June 9, 1899 unveiling of the Frederick Douglass Monument by John W. Thompson and members of Eureka Lodge No. 36 of the Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons, will include remarks from City of Rochester and Monroe County officials along with descendants of Douglass. This is America's first monument dedicated to an African American. The approximately hour-long commemoration at Frederick Douglass Memorial Plaza, 1208 South Avenue (corner of South Avenue and Robinson Drive) in Highland Park, will include experts sharing little known facts about the monument and lively music. Admission is free to the public; masks are encouraged.

Who's ready for a Food & Beverage Day in the Islands? This self-guided tour takes participants to 6 “anchor” venues throughout the Thousand Islands. The “anchors” include Antique Boat Museum, Clayton Distillery, Coyote Moon Vineyards, Northern Flow Vineyards, Thousand Islands Winery and Wood Boat Brewery. In addition to these venues, guests on the tour can patronize approximately 15-20 food and beverage vendors from across New York State that will be dispersed among the “anchor” locations. This production has been rescheduled from 2020.
