Step back in time into the world of one of the most influential presidents of our time, Theodore Roosevelt, at the house where he was sworn into office in 1901, in Buffalo, NY, after the assassination of President William McKinley.

Exhibits focus on the assassination and inauguration, details of Roosevelt's life and consequential issues of the significantly historic time. The combination of historically restored rooms and interactive exhibits provide visitors with the opportunity to feel as if they part of the events of that fateful September, while gaining a new perspective on the issues Roosevelt faced during his presidency.

Along with the tours, the museum also hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Visitors can also tour nearby historic neighborhoods.

Did you know...
Roosevelt was the inspiration for the creation of the “teddy bear.” Morris Michtom created a tiny soft bear cub and put it in the shop window with a sign "Teddy's bear," after sending a bear to Roosevelt and receiving permission to use his name. And as a driving force for the Progressive Era in the United States in the early 20th century, Theodore Roosevelt's face is depicted on Mount Rushmore, alongside those of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln.
