Now the Fenton History Center, this elegant home features the ornate furnishings of the era and glimpses into life of the 19th century
Southern Chautauqua County's history lives within the 1863 Italianate Villa home of Reuben E. Fenton, New York State's 22nd Governor, and the historical Hall House that was built in 1846.
The elegant home features the ornate furnishings of the era and its exhibits and period rooms throughout the mansion provide the visitor with visual evidence of life in the 19th century. There is also a gift shop.
The kitchen is still equipped with the necessities for housekeeping in the Homespun Era while a collection of tools for farming, home building and maintenance as well as looms and spinning wheels give the visitor a glimpse into the basic mechanical and manual abilities which were needed for survival a century ago.
