Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D. Martin House Complex
Tours explore the buildings, the surrounding landscape and an extensive collection of art glass and furnishings
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built between 1903 and 1905, The Darwin D. Martin House Complex is a National Historic Landmark.
This unique residential complex was created for Larkin Soap Company executive, Darwin D. Martin, and consists of the main Martin House, the smaller Barton House, a carriage house with chauffeur’s quarters and stables, a glass-roofed conservatory linked to the main house by a 100-foot pergola, and a gardener’s cottage. Three of the original elements — the pergola, conservatory and carriage house, which were demolished decades ago, are rebuilt in the first-ever reconstruction of Wright buildings.
Tours explore the buildings, the surrounding landscape and an extensive collection of art glass and furnishings, all designed by Wright. Reservations are strongly recommended and to visit the interior of the house you must be on a guided tour.
