The historic – and supposedly haunted – building housing the Seneca Falls Historical Society Museum has seen major transformations since its early beginnings in 1823 as a one-room school house.

Circa 1855, a two-story brick structure in the Italianate Style was erected on the site as part of a 10-acre estate with a carriage house, tool shed, vineyard, garden and orchard. After another extensive remodel around 1875, the home became the 23-room Queen Anne mansion it is today boasting much of the original fixtures and furnishings.

The original Gothic Revival tool shed is now the "Bee Hive," a replica of a general store, located behind the house.
