Touted as America's oldest surviving lighthouse on Lake Ontario, the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse is an 1822 octagonal stone lighthouse in the Charlotte neighborhood in northern Rochester.

Located on Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Genesee River, the 40-foot tower has an additional 12 feet of height for the lantern room. Climb its 42 steps and then an 11-rung ladder into the lantern room for a magnificent panoramic view of the area.
